Cheapass Games

In 1996 James Ernest launched Cheapass Games with the flagship title Kill Doctor Lucky which won the Origins Award for Best Abstract Board game the following year. For ten years, Cheapass Games released about twelve games per year, winning several awards and bringing light and joy to the hearts of dozens of humans. One of the things people love most about the games is that by not including a lot of components and pieces, (that most gamers already own) the cost of the games were significantly cheaper than competitors. James Ernest retired from the tabletop industry to work on computer games for several years before re-emerging Willy Wonka-style, producing new versions of his old games as well as some entirely new creations.

Loony Labs

Our mission is to create fun. More specifically, we create innovative, attractive, and above all, really fun parlor games (i.e. non-electronic card and board games) that can be enjoyed by adults and children alike. We believe parlor games not only provide entertainment and friendly competition, but also bring people together and create worthwhile shared experiences. Game-playing provides involvement and interaction, things we need more of in our increasingly passive society.

Our goal is nothing short of unification of the fractured pieces of the national gaming industry, to everyone's benefit. We invite you to join us at the beginning of this exciting process!
